House Music
Another special presentation tonight with House Music, a collection of songs about dwellings both physical and emotional. For tonight’s Final Hour, I came up with three themed sets, see if you can guess what they are. It’s like that Connections game!

Good Vibrations
Get ready to pulse and thrum with tonight’s special presentation of Good Vibrations, a collection of music featuring xylophones, marimbas, glockenspiels, and other such timbral delights. It gets jazzy, and loungey, but there are also some curveballs in there and some very specific favorites.

Have You Ever Seen The Rain
Tonight we open with Margaret Glaspy and her delightfully umami voice tackling Creedence Clearwater Revival’s classic, dedicated to all the changing weather, a favorite topic of these introductions. Elsewhere tonight, the set that started with Los Straitjackets and ended with the Skatalites was 🔥, as they say. Look for it in an upcoming Mixtape.

Channel Rot
The tang of fall is in the air, though the days are dressed for summer. I missed Frankie and the Witch Fingers when they were in town a couple of months ago due to work travel, and I was supremely bummed, as their particular take on electropunk is right in my wheelhouse. Tonight’s selection is a weird little experimental number from their latest release, which I highly recommend.

Nothing At All
The aleatory nature of playlist selection for The Lacking Organization means all-instrumental sets are rare, so having two in one show definitely merits a mention in the show notes. Tonight’s highlight is Mac DeMarco, whose new album provides the perfect soundtrack for this particularly floaty stage of summer.

The Beat
Peach season is hot and heavy here in the Grand Valley, but I have yet to reach peach oversaturation. Give them to me in anything and everything, sure, I’ll try it. A special selection tonight in the form of The Beat, a one-hour set of music self-referentially dedicated to its own rhythmic components, after which things took their usual turn for the weird.

Here's My Number
Normally an off night, but I had work travel. Many thanks to Honey Lady for switching nights so I can keep these hits coming! I am truly digging Audio Book Club and their demented Oklahoma skronk, hugging you warm and tight while they stab you in the back. Here’s hoping the Grand Valley is a stop should they venture westwards.
