Punchy and punch drunk laments wrapped in glorious blankets of fuzz and overgained vocals.
This is salty, and tangy, and spicy, and sweet, like the musical equivalent of a Mexican tamarind candy. It sounds so Sixties and Seventies that it must be from Today.
The first thing to know is that it's pronounced "male." The important thing to know is that the Irish trio make the sort of rickety racket with metronomic drums, aggressive bass, spiky guitar, and disaffected vocals that immediately gets my attention
Another band with a well-earned penchant for ALL-CAPS, overbrimming with adolescent incorrigible behavior sung about from the perspective of adults proving it is indeed corrigible. The music is hyper-pop-punk and the irony levels are high.
Ty’s arsenal of instrumentation continues to grow, as he fills out his domain of prog-rock, stoner drones, glam trash, and other Seventies detritus with keyboards, more keyboards, and an evolving sense of studio wizardry.
