The name implies something ponderous, onerous, heavy, and while you can find some flashes of that in here, it's more of a showcase for the kind of indie rock that shines brightly with male-female harmonies and sentiments that will twist your guts.
YACHT dropped out of sight right before the whole "yacht rock" revival thing happened, but this release reinforces the band's penchant for commenting on current themes with the musical equivalent of wearing sunglasses inside the nightclub.
If you wanted some watered-down drinks type of songs because Hynde now qualifies for an AARP membership, you should probably look elsewhere, because this is true-to-form confessional gritty rock
